News Release

The best track cyclists in the world will descend on Milton’s Mattamy National Cycling Centre from December 1-3, 2017. The three-day UCI Track Cycling World Cup is expected to attract cyclists and spectators from around the world and be broadcast in more than 50 countries.

“When we built the Velodrome, we knew it had the potential to be a world class hub for high performance sport,” said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz. “Cycling Canada have been great partners for us, and we’re thrilled to welcome the world to Milton in December for the World Cup.”

“Cycling is a growing and iconic sport and Canadian cyclists have so much potential to shine on the world’s stage,” said Pierre Lafontaine, CEO Cycling Canada. “It’s been great to see how the Mattamy National Cycling Centre has developed young, homegrown talent.”

The Mattamy National Cycling Centre is a multi-purpose community facility, which continues to see strong demand for rental spaces, special events, and participation in Town recreation programs.
