Town of Milton posts survey for user fee feedback

Posted on Friday June 15, 2012

As part of an extensive review, the Town of Milton is inviting members of the public to provide input on the Town’s user fees for recreation programs and facility rentals.

The information from the survey results will assist with delivering programs and services through better understanding of the balance between what the user should pay and the level of tax support.

“The Town offers many recreational choices and our facilities serve the community in a variety of ways,” said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz. “Our goal is to make these programs and services available at an affordable cost to users.  The survey results will help staff gauge the community’s perspective on funding to find the right balance of support for these services between property taxes and users paying for their programs and services.”

The survey is available on the Town’s website (www.milton.ca/en/townhall/ratesfees.asp) and at Town facilities and must be submitted by June 20, 2012. Feedback is being welcomed even from those who have not participated in any programs or rented a facility.

Background information on expenditures for programs and facilities is included in the survey, while full details of the current rates and fees for recreation programs and facility rentals are available on the afore-mentioned website. Additional information on this survey is available by calling 905-878-7252, ext. 2581.
