Roadway Permits

Wide/Heavy Vehicle Permit 

Oversize/Overweight Load Permit Application

Wide and/or heavy vehicle permits are issued for a fee (details in Rates and Fees) by the Engineering Services Department on either a one-time basis or for a year. Should your route require use of regional roads you must contact the Region of Halton directly. Permits are to be submitted a minimum of 5 business days prior to required date, failure to submit your permit on time may result in your permit not being processed.

The Town requires commercial general liability insurance in the name of the carrier to a limit of no less than $2,000,000 per occurrence and endorsed to name the Town of Milton as additional insured as well as automobile liability insurance to a limit no less than $5,000,000 naming the Town of Milton as additional insured.

Municipal Consent Permit

A municipal consent is required prior to any work performed within the right-of-way of assumed roads under the jurisdiction of the Town of Milton. Two copies of drawings showing the detail and scope of work proposed must accompany the municipal consent application.

Road Occupancy Permit

Road Occupancy Permit

A road occupancy permit is required prior to any work performed within the travelled portion of the roadway under the jurisdiction of the Town of Milton. The Town requires liability insurance in the amount of at least $5,000,000, naming the Town of Milton as additional insured.

There is a fee for the above permit which is detailed in the Rates and Fees.
