Many of the programs, services, and special events offered by the Town of Milton are made possible with the support of many caring volunteers. There are opportunities to fit with your schedule - whether it is one-time participation or a longer term commitment. Opportunities are available to work with children, adults and seniors in a variety of settings. Town staff will work with you to find a match that will be the right fit for you.
If you are interested in positions working with children or participants with disabilities, or handling of alcohol or money, before a placement begins, you must complete a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening. You will be reimbursed for the cost of a clear Criminal Record Check.
For all other volunteer positions, Town staff will contact you to arrange for required screening.
If you would like to volunteer in our camps or school break programs, a leadership certificate would be an asset.
All applications are carefully considered; based on many factors, we may not be able to match you with your preferred placement, but we will work with you to discuss other available options.
You must complete a mandatory training session.
Volunteering is a way for you to get more involved in your community while you meet new people, use existing talents and learn valuable new skills. If you are a high school student working on completing your community service hours, volunteering with the Town of Milton can introduce you to a wide range of new experiences.
