Provincial Offences Act

The Provincial Offences Act (POA) governs how charges are processed and prosecuted.  Most of the offences filed at POA court fall under the Highway Traffic Act, the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, the Liquor License Act or the Trespass to Property Act. Most offences are minor and paid out-of-court.
