Wellness Week offers free opportunities to “Move More” in Milton

The Milton Sports Centre and Milton Leisure Centre will be offering select fitness and aquafit classes for free during Wellness Week, Monday, January 21 to Sunday, January 27, 2013.

A variety of complimentary classes as well as "try it" programs will be offered at both venues throughout Wellness Week to suit different schedules, fitness needs and preferences. Offerings include free classes, such as Kickboxing, Boot Camp, Cycling and Mind/Body Flow; and free program demonstrations and trials including Pilates, Zumba and Yoga. Free tours will also be available for participants interested in exploring the Town’s fitness facilities.

"I encourage the Milton community to take advantage of the free activities throughout this year’s Wellness Week," said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz. "The New Year is a great reminder for us all to lead healthier lives and stay active in mind, body and soul."

Wellness Week is part of a larger, community-wide campaign known as Move More, Milton! which encourages Milton residents and employees to be more active, more often and as a result – healthier. The campaign was developed in 2009 by the Town of Milton, in partnership with Milton Community Resource Centre and other community partners, and is funded by the Ministry of Health Promotion.
