Time capsule to celebrate Nassagaweya’s storied past

Posted on Friday April 26, 2013

All members of the public are invited to join the Town of Milton for a Time Capsule Dedication at the Nassagaweya Tennis Centre & Community Hall on Saturday, May 4, 2013.

"On behalf of Milton Council and the Milton community, we are pleased to celebrate this special event in Nassagaweya," said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz. "Our Town motto is ‘Look to This Day,’ and it is exciting to think that one day, future residents will look back at how we are living today, and hopefully learn something that will help shape their present and future."

"The time capsule dedication will celebrate the past, present and future of this important site in the Nassagaweya community," said Cindy Lunau, Councillor, Ward 3. "This event will help ensure that its rich heritage will be appreciated for generations to come."

The event takes place on May 4 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with the dedication ceremony beginning at 2 p.m. Facility tours will be available, and visitors can also browse through displays of historical artifacts, learn about the past activities and people who have shaped the site and surrounding area, and explore the "green" features of the facility.
