A range of site works are planned for the Jaycee Trail, Livingston Park and municipally-owned land north of the C.P. Railway Line.
Phase One work included tree removal and maintenance along the trail that runs alongside the Mill Pond and Livingston Park as well as habitat management and conservation work in the woodland north of the C.P. Railway Line. Other works included bank stabilization, edging of the trails with trimmed tree branches, habitat creation and resurfacing of the trails with woodchips.
Phase Two work began in the winter of 2012 and included tree removal and pruning. Sections of the trail were compacted and eroded, so the Mill Race Walkway was resurfaced with the woodchips generated by the on-site tree maintenance. Logs were also used to build up the washouts and retain the woodchip trail surface with additional trees planted to help regenerate the woodlands along the trail.
