(Formerly Campbellville Community Centre)
The Town of Milton received $1.97 million in funding for the redevelopment of the Campbellville Community Centre site through the federal government's Recreational Infrastructure Canada program in Ontario (RInC Ontario) and the provincial government's Ontario Recreation Program (Ontario REC). The total project cost was projected at $2,948,200, which includes full reconstruction of the building, tennis courts, parking areas, landscaping and passive open space areas.
The Town awarded the design contract to The Ventin Group in fall 2009. Engineering studies and applications for development approvals were completed. Following preliminary design and public consultation, the Town moved forward with the construction tender.
The newly redesigned 4,000 square-foot facility, which is home to the Nassagaweya Tennis Club, is now complete and open to the public. Town of Milton facility rentals and recreation programs began running out of the Centre in October 2011. The facility includes a community hall, with a kitchenette and view of the tennis courts, as well as a board room.
