Proposed Velodrome for Milton
The proposed velodrome is a 250-metre oval cycling track with banked corners and 1,500 permanent seats. In addition to the cycling track, the facility will also provide the community with access to recreations spaces that are non-cycling related. The infield portion of the track is large enough to hold the equivalent of three regulation size basketball courts and can be used for many different activities and events. Other potential spaces in the building include a fitness centre, 300-metre walking/jogging track, multi-purpose room and other associated amenities.

Where is the money coming from to build the velodrome?

- Sierra Planning and Management completed a business plan for the legacy aspect of the facility.
- The facility will be used for a number of international, national and provincial cycling competitions, creating a positive economic impact on the business community in Milton.
- There will be a significant opportunity for a high performance and local cycling legacy, as well as community recreational use.
- Plans for the facility also include a 20,000 square-foot gymnasium, 300-metre walking/jogging track, 3,200 square-foot fitness centre, multi-purpose room and support amenities.
What are the Milton Velodrome timelines?
- May 2012: Binding agreements to be signed should the project be approved by Milton Council
