Vacancies on boards or committees are advertised in local newspapers. You can use the Application Form on this website or obtain the application form and detailed descriptions of the various boards and committees from the Clerk's Office at Town Hall.
Code of Conduct
All citizen board and committee members will be required to sign a Code of Conduct upon appointment. The Municipal Election Compliance Audit Committee has a separate Code of Conduct.

The Committee of Adjustment and Consent is composed of five Milton residents who are appointed by Council for a term concurrent with the term of Council. The Committee meets once each month to consider applications for:
The Community Services Advisory Committee (CSAC) was established by Town Council to provide a forum for public input and consultation on a broad range of programs and services delivered by the Town of Milton. This committee provides input on community services issues in the Town's program areas of Community Services, Fire and Transit. Town Council has given the Downtown Business Improvement Area (DBIA) the authority for the improvement, beautification and maintenance of municipally owned lands, buildings and structures in a designated downtown business area. Heritage Milton provides advice and assistance to Town Council, the Planning and Development Department and private property owners on matters relating to the conservation of the community's historic buildings and architectural heritage. The Milton Accessibility Advisory Committee was created under the authority of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001. This Committee advises and assists the Town in promoting and facilitating a barrier-free community for citizens of all abilities (universal accessibility), including persons with disabilities. The Milton Public Library Board has a mandate to provide a comprehensive and efficient public library service that reflects the community's unique needs. For more information, please call 905-875-2665 , ext. 3252.
This Board represents the members of the Milton Seniors' Activity Centre and advises Town staff on issues relating to the Centre's programs and activities. The Board is made up of 12 volunteer members and a representative from Town Council. Board members serve on Centre committees and act as liaisons with activity groups. This Committee reports to Milton Town Council on matters concerning public transit within the Town of Milton, including transit fares, service hours, routes, operating policies, passenger concerns and accessibility to bus stops. For more information, please call 905-878-7252, ext. 2548.
In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (MEA), Town of Milton Council is required to have a Municipal Election Compliance Audit Committee to consider compliance audit applications with regard to Candidates’ financial statements file under Section 81 of the MEA for the 2010 election, in accordance with procedures established by the Town Clerk.
