The Town of Milton offers a wide range of recreational activities and programs for all ages, including fitness, sports, aquatics, recreational swimming and skating, and general interest programs. For detailed information on programs, please see our Community Services Guide or visit Milton Online Registrations.
Numerous general interest programs are available to fill your leisure hours with pleasure! Children and youth can participate in programs ranging from crafts and cartooning to self-esteem building and developing leadership skills. Adults and seniors can choose programs, such as painting and drawing, creative writing, cooking, dance and more!
Learning to swim is an important life skill for Canadians given the number of recreational activities which take place in, on and around water. Be safe - it could save your life or the lives of others. Lifesaving Society SWIM program lessons take children from beginner to advanced levels in structured group teaching sessions, semi-private or private lessons. Advanced sessions, including lifesaving, instructor, lifeguard, bronze medallion and emergency first aid are also available to help students become future lifeguards and swim instructors with the Town.
Stay active and feel great with our selection of “get up and go” programs. From sports activities, aquafit programs and fitness, to pre- and post-natal workouts, there is something for all ages, lifestyles and activity levels.
Commit to a fitness pass, register for a set number of classes or drop
in on a whim – the choice is yours! Choose from annual, 90-day or 30-day
passes or pay-as-you-go visits. Work out in the weight/cardio room, join
a fitness class or hop in the pool to enjoy length swimming or an aquafit experience. We are "just the right fit" for you!

The community of Milton was the proud recipient of a youth-friendly designation from the 2006 Play Works Youth Friendly Community Recognition Program. The award was given for outstanding commitment to providing adolescent youth with opportunities to play, participate in and contribute to their communities. Youth are encouraged to have a voice in our community by joining the Milton Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (link to committees page #65). Many youth enjoy participating at the MLC Fridays Youth Drop-in Program at the Milton Leisure Centre, which includes theme events, such as Dinner & a Movie, Splash Bash and more!
Milton seniors are dynamic, active, vibrant and full of life! Be active physically and socially, with registered programs, drop-in programs, clubs and special events/trips offered at the Milton Seniors’ Activity Centre
