Photo Contest

Get creative and share your Canada Day memories by entering our photo contest. Submit as many times as you like in four categories:

  1. Most Patriotic Pet - A photo of your pet looking very Patriotic
  2. Treats & Sweet - Show Milton you're the king of the grill, or flaunt your flan. Photos should depict fun eats.
  3. Home Safe Home - Let's see how you have decorated your house in celebration, or showcase how your family is marking the occasion.
  4. Chalk Walk Art - Take to the sidewalk to create a masterpiece and then take a photo to share with us.

 Full Contest Rules
 

The following are the rules (“Rules”) for the Canada Day Photo Contest Contest (the “Contest”) being administered by “The Town of Milton”.

1. ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the Contest, entrants must be legal residents of Milton, Ontario, be of the age of majority or older at the time of entry in their province of residence and have a valid Facebook account. Employees of The Town of Milton and its, advertising and promotional agencies and the household members of any of the above, are not eligible to participate in the Contest.

2. HOW TO ENTER

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, entrants must submit a photo for consideration by tagging the Town of Milton on Facebook and using the hashtag #miltontogether. The Contest shall run from Friday, June 16, 2020 11:00 a.m. to Monday, July 6 2020 11:00 a.m. (the “Contest Period”) after which time no further entries will be considered.

3. SELECTION OF WINNER

Winners will be determined by the photo with the most number of ‘Likes’ on Faceook as of Monday July 6 at 11:00 a.m. The potential winner will be contacted by private Facebook message and will have twenty-four hours to respond and provide their contact information. If a selected potential winner does not respond in the allotted time, another potential winner may be selected at The Town of Milton’s sole discretion.

4. PRIZE[S]

There is one Prize available to be won in each category, which consists of a $75 gift card to the store of the Town of Milton’s choice as well as a Town of Milton prize pack. The value of the prize is one-hundred dollars (CDN$100).

The Prize is not transferable and not redeemable for cash, will not be extended under any circumstances and must be accepted as offered without substitution.

5. RELEASE

The Winner will be required to execute a Winner release form (“Release”) that confirms Winner’s: (i) eligibility for the Contest; (ii) acceptance of the Prize as offered; (iii) release of The Town of Milton, Facebook, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates and/or related companies and each of their employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, sponsors, administrators, licensees, representatives, advertising, media buying and promotional agencies (collectively, the “Releases”) from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense arising out of participation in the Contest or the acceptance, use, or misuse of the Prize, including but not limited to costs, injuries, losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light, or from any and all claims of third parties arising therefrom; and (iv) grants to The Town of Milton of the unrestricted right, in The Town of Milton’s sole discretion, to produce, reproduce, publish, broadcast, communicate by telecommunication, exhibit, distribute, adapt and otherwise use or re-use the Winner’s name, photograph, likeness, voice and biography, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, in connection with the Contest and the promotion and exploitation thereof. The executed Release must be returned within two (2) business days of the date indicated on the accompanying letter of notification or the verification as a Winner or the selected entrant will be disqualified and the Prize forfeited.

6. GENERAL

By participating in the Contest, you agree to abide by these Rules and the decisions of The Town of Milton which shall be final and binding in all respects. Entrants who have not complied with these Rules are subject to disqualification.

Notwithstanding the defined Contest Period, The Town of Milton reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate the Contest, in whole or part, and/or modify, amend or suspend the Contest, and/or these Rules in any way, at any time, for any reason without prior notice.

Personal information collected during the course of the Contest shall be used by The Town of Milton solely for the purposes of conducting the Contest and awarding prizes, and will not be used or disclosed for any other purpose unless required by law. The Town of Milton will use the entrant’s personal information only for identified purposes, and protect the entrant’s Personal Information in a manner that is consistent with The Town of Milton’s Privacy Policy at: https://www.milton.ca/en/town-hall/freedom-of-information-and-protection-of-privacy.aspx

By participating in the Contest, the Prize Winner(s) agree(s) that his/her name may be used in any and all forms of media, without any further compensation by The Town of Milton and waives all rights (including moral rights) with respect to printed, broadcast and other forms of publicity.

In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the Facebook account associated with the entry. “Authorized account holder” of the Facebook account is defined as the natural person who is assigned to a Facebook account by Facebook.

The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by Facebook and any personal information provided by an entrant is being provided to The Town of Milton and not Facebook.

The Contest is subject to all applicable laws of the province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
