Once a building permit is issued, you will need a building inspection. A building inspection will ensure that your project is safe and follows the regulations and guidelines set out in the Ontario Building Code. An inspection will also make sure you follow Town of Milton by-laws, Region of Halton regulations and other regulating bodies.
  • Schedule an inspection for residential permits submitted and issued using our new online service portal (after Oct. 10, 2023).
  • Schedule an inspection for permits that were submitted and issued without using our new online service portal.

You can also call to request an inspection at 905-878-7252 x2396. You’ll need to provide the following information:

  • Building permit number and address
  • Contact name and telephone number
  • Inspection type

You may need to get a building inspection at various times throughout a building project and when the project is complete. It is the permit holder or property owner’s responsibility to get all necessary inspections.
