On July 9, 2020, Milton Council endorsed the Town’s COVID-19 recovery program strategy and framework outlining the Town’s phased approach to re-opening facilities and resuming services that were impacted by the pandemic. The framework considers the safety of staff and the public, business continuity, and resuming services.

Summary

  • The Town of Milton Recovery Program Strategy and Framework was developed by staff assembled to address the unique needs of the Corporation and the community.  The framework considers the safety of staff, the public, business continuity and the restoration of services.
  • Employee and Community Risk Assessments have been performed to review, identify and mitigate risks and prioritize hazard control measures;
  • The framework identifies the various stages of recovery ( 1,2,3 ) and provides the ability to adapt business activity to adhere to provincial guidelines and directives from public health as required
  • The Town of Milton Recovery Program Strategy and Framework provides the necessary flexibility to respond to changing provincial direction, public health guidelines and other associated requirements. 

An internal companion document was also developed and serves as the basis for the Town's framework for COVID through Human Resources Policies, Health and Safety, Standard Operating Procedures and workplace environment changes.

The Town of Milton reopens facilities and reintroduces altered activities in alignment with provincial guidelines outlined the Province's recovery framework. New safety protocols and changes to how programs and activities are offered have been implemented to ensure the safety of the participants and staff.
