News release-

On Wednesday, November 14, Minister of Transportation Steven Del Duca announced a commitment to redevelop the Milton GO Station, adding up to 850 new parking spaces and improving station access. The station enhancements will provide additional connections to Milton Transit, increase opportunities for active transportation and improve pedestrian access to the station and nearby amenities.

“Milton Council and residents welcome today’s announcement of plans to proceed with GO Station enhancements, including increased pedestrian access, additional surface parking and easier connections to Milton Transit,” said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz. “These enhancements bring us one step closer to all-day, two-way GO Train connections which are essential for meeting the needs of our growing community.”

“The Town of Milton remains committed to achieving its growth targets through the Provincial Places to Grow Act and we continue to work closely with Metrolinx to bring all-day, two-way GO Train service and additional GO Stations to Milton,” said Bill Mann, Chief Administrative Officer.

As of Q3, Milton Transit ridership has increased 13% in 2017. This year, Milton Transit has added two new routes, introduced extended evening service and made schedule adjustments to allow for better connections with GO Transit.
