Summer Returns with the Downtown Milton Street Festival

Named one of the Top 100 festivals in the province by Festivals and Events Ontario, the Downtown Milton Street Festival returns on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from noon to 11:00 pm. Milton’s Main Street, between Brown and Fulton Streets, will be closed for a full day of entertainment, including musicians, artisans, buskers and community groups.

Visitors can enjoy free admission and free transit to the festival, which will inclu­de three stages of live entertainment, sponsored by OLG, CN and Bank of Montreal. There will be music for all tastes and all ages, including folk, jazz, rock, hip hop, soul, swing, big band, Celtic, country and more. Visitors can also enjoy restaurants and expanded outdoor patios as well as over 100 participating vendors, shops and businesses. Other features this year will include a Food Truck Zone, Viva Pan Am Milton Zone, Wellness Zone, sponsored by Kim Family Chiropractic, and Kidz Zone, sponsored by Milton Toyota. Free transit services for the day are sponsored by Mattamy Homes. Other festival sponsors include Seasons Milton Retirement Community, Milton Chrysler and The Canadian Champion.

The Downtown Milton Street Festival is continuing its green initiatives and will feature water hydration stations and recycling centres. Visitors are encouraged to bring refillable water bottles to the event and ensure all garbage is put in its proper place.

Note: Main Street will be closed as of 5 am on Saturday, June 6 for festival set-up. The Farmers’ Market will not run that day and will resume the following Saturday, June 13.
