Posted on Tuesday August 27, 2019

On August 26, 2019, Milton Council approved a milestone report regarding Sherwood Community Centre. The facility will open in phases starting with the arenas on September 21, multipurpose rooms on September 27 and the Branch Library on September 30.

Work is still ongoing in the pool area with an anticipated completion date of October. A variety of aquatic programs will be offered following this with registered programs starting in late November.

“It is always exciting to open a new Community Centre,” said Community Services Commissioner, Kristene Scott. “Our team has worked hard to provide the types of amenities and additional space the community needs in order to stay active.”

The facility will be home to a well-balanced mix of programs that caters to all ages, skill levels and overall interests. This includes a large number of swim lessons, a variety of fitness classes and various older adult programs.

The Sherwood Community Centre is located on the north side of Main Street West, east of Tremaine Road. It includes a twin pad arena, aquatic pools (25-metre and leisure/therapeutic), active living studio, multi-purpose spaces and a branch library.
