The Town of Milton proudly celebrates National AccessAbility Week (NAAW), taking place from May 28 to June 3. The week recognizes the contributions of Canadians living with disabilities while promoting efforts to increase accessibility and inclusion within the community.
The Town is excited to present a variety of free events aimed at celebrating this important week and educating residents:
Community Flag Raising and Proclamation
Join Mayor Krantz, along with members of the Milton Accessibility Advisory Committee, as they raise the Flag of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
- May 29 at 10 a.m.
- Location: Milton Town Hall Flag Pole, 150 Mary Street
Virtual Deaf Awareness Workshops
In collaboration with the Bob Rumball Centre of Excellence for the Deaf, the Town will host two free virtual workshops aimed at educating residents about the Deaf community in Milton and how to help build a more accessible community. Participants will also practice some basic ASL signs. Registration is required to attend the workshops. Participants can register at www.milton.ca/naaw.

Red Shirt Day
In support of Red Shirt Day, The Town of Milton also encourages residents to wear red on May 31. Red Shirt Day is an annual event, spearheaded by Easter Seals, that encourages Canadians to show their support for persons and families who are living with disabilities while expressing their commitment to support inclusion efforts.
