Public service announcement

Every year, communities across Ontario celebrate Recreation and Parks Month in June. Recreation and Parks Month is recognized by municipalities, community organizations and schools as a way of promoting the benefits of being active and recognizing the contribution that recreation and parks make to quality of life.

We encourage Miltonians to celebrate Recreation and Parks Month by heading outside to explore local parks and trails, while also getting involved in the various recreation programming available.

Sports and recreation lending program

In partnership with the Milton Public Library, residents can borrow family outdoor games and sports equipment. All that’s needed is a library card and the desire to have fun and get active.

Residents can ‘check out’ items such as:

  • Spikeball
  • Giant Jenga
  • Ladder Toss
  • Sports activity kits (basketballs, soccer balls, Frisbees, pylons, etc.)
  • Hiking poles

To join in on the fun, check out the Milton Public Library’s catalogue and type ‘sports kit’ in the search bar.
