Public service announcement

Effective Dec. 26, 2020, Milton, as part of Halton Region, will enter the province-wide shutdown for 28 days.

The provincial COVID-19 framework uses epidemiology (i.e., cases, incidence rate), health system and public health system capacities as thresholds to determine the category each public health unit region falls.

The Town continues to remind residents that we are in this together. Our individual and collective actions assist our community to reopen when safe to do so. Please refer to Halton Region Public Health for public health measures you are encouraged to practice.

During the province-wide shutdown, there are required changes to implement to Town services that ensure municipalities are doing their part in reducing the risk and transmission of COVID-19.

Town Hall

After the usual holiday closures, Town Hall will only be open for pre-scheduled marriage license appointments, starting on Jan. 4, 2021.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to continue using the Town’s website to make online payments for various services including property taxes, parking tickets and transit tickets and passes. For more information about online services, visit the Town Hall COVID-19 web page.

Town recreation centres and facilities

Effective Dec. 26, 2020, all Town of Milton recreation facilities will be closed to the public and in-person recreational programming is paused during the province-wide shutdown.

To keep the community engaged, active and learning, Milton is offering registered virtual programs, for residents to participate in from home. The community is encouraged to stay active and healthy, but to do so with your own household.

Milton Transit

Starting Dec. 26, 2020, Milton Transit will operate for essential travel only. Once facilities close, customers may purchase tickets and passes through the mobile app or use cash for payment. Passengers are required to continue using face coverings while onboard.

We are in this together. Thank you for your patience and support through program and service changes. For more information about the Town’s response to the ongoing pandemic, visit the Town’s COVID-19 web portal or subscribe for regular email updates.
