Public Service Announcement

Effective April 3, Milton, as part of Halton Region, will enter a province-wide shutdown for 28 days.

It is important that individuals remain vigilant in practicing public health guidelines. Our individual and collective action assists our community to reopen when safe to do so. Please refer to Halton Region Public Health for public health measures you are encouraged to practice.

In the shutdown, there are required changes to implement to Town services that ensure municipalities are doing their part in reducing the risk and transmission of COVID-19.

Town Hall
After the Easter weekend closures (April 2 and 5), Town Hall will remain open for in-person services Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with enhanced health and safety measures in place. Only five residents are permitted in the building at one time. While in-person services are available, the Town encourages residents to conduct business online or by phone as much as possible and only visit in-person as a last resort.

For more information, visit our service impacts web page.

Town recreation centres and facilities

Effective April 3, all Town of Milton recreation facilities will be closed to the public and in-person recreational programming is paused in the shutdown zone of the provincial framework. Information about memberships payments or registration fees can be found on the service impacts web page.

To keep the community engaged, active and learning, Milton is offering registered virtual programs, for residents to participate in from home. The community is encouraged to stay active and healthy, but to do so with your own household.

The Town is reviewing and assessing the new regulations as it relates to outdoor recreational amenities and will share more information as soon as it becomes available.

Milton Transit

Milton Transit continues to operate and provide regular service. Passengers are required to use face coverings (e.g. non-medical masks) while on board and limit travel for essential purposes only.

The Town of Milton thanks the community for their patience and support through program and service changes. For more information about the Town’s response to the ongoing pandemic, visit the Town’s COVID-19 web portal or subscribe for regular updates.
