News release

Construction season is underway and the Town of Milton is working to build and maintain critical infrastructure to keep Milton moving.

This infrastructure includes road reconstruction, bike lanes, sidewalk expansion, asphalt improvements, intersection modifications, urbanization (curbs and gutters), storm sewer rehabilitation and bridge maintenance. We know through our most recent Citizen Engagement Survey that this type of infrastructure maintenance and development is important.

This year, residents can expect road closures and lane restrictions on main and arterial roads and side streets. Regular operational maintenance on roads and sidewalks are ongoing in our community to keep residents safe, and promote a walkable and bicycle-friendly community.

During construction, residents are encouraged to plan travel in advance, consider alternate routes, follow signage and be patient while traveling in and around construction areas.

For a list of 2023 construction projects, what to expect when there’s construction in your neighbourhood, and road closures, visit the Town’s website.

Quote

“The Town of Milton is investing over $32.2 million on our road networks in 2023 to build infrastructure that makes Milton a complete and connected community. We know and understand that construction can be inconvenient, however, this is essential work that ensures critical infrastructure remains safe, in good condition, and able to meet the community’s needs now and in the future.”
