News Release

The Town of Milton has launched an improved online portal called Discover Milton, hosting an interactive suite of mapping applications along with an open data repository. This new online portal puts easy-to-use mapping solutions and open data in one convenient location.

This innovative, web-based platform features an intuitive visual display that allows users to easily access a range of Milton-specific data, property and land use information, as well as interactive mapping applications that provide up-to-date information on everything from current road closures and construction projects to future urban structure and growth studies.

“The purpose of Discover Milton is to make Town information easily accessible and usable for residents as well as business owners and operators,” said Aaron Smit, Acting Director, Information Technology. “From tracking the status of development applications to looking up future land uses or property information, the Discover Milton platform can provide a wide variety of useful information at the click of a button.”

Other online enhancements include more powerful search tools and a variety of map layers showing streets, property lines, zoning information, major buildings, parks, community centres, trails, schools and businesses.

“As the demand for online services and digital tools continues to grow, we understand the importance of making data accessible to the community by providing timely and transparent  online information about Town services, projects and future developments,” said Troy McHarg, Commissioner, Corporate Services. “The Discover Milton hub is a platform that will allow the Town to continue this mandate now and expand its data offering in the future.”

Milton is continually improving its delivery of convenient, web-based information and online services to better serve residents and the business community as well as encourage public engagement. To access Discover Milton visit Milton.ca/Maps.
