Public Service Announcement 

On June 11, 2021, at 12:01 a.m., Milton will enter Step 1 of the province’s Roadmap to Reopen. Step 1 focuses on resuming outdoor activities with smaller crowds where the risk of transmission is lower and permitting retail with restrictions.

The Town of Milton will continue to take a gradual approach to reopening services and facilities. The Town’s gradual approach allows the necessary measures to be in place to ensure the safety of residents and staff.

Residents can expect the following to resume in Step 1 on June 11, unless otherwise noted below:

Sports and recreational fitness facilities

  • Permits will be available to groups for outdoor bookings of 10 or less with established health and safety protocols
  • Athletes who are training for the upcoming Tokyo summer games or the Beijing winter games (next February) may train indoors during designated times

Personal training and fitness

  • The Town will offer pre-registered outdoor fitness and sports drop-in classes based on demand, with a limit of 10 people per class
  • Private fitness professionals/gyms will be able to book outdoor spaces to offer their programs through the Facility Booking unit (Insurance must be provided/purchased and COVID-19 protocols followed)
  • Permits for outdoor sports training will be available to groups for bookings of 10 people or less with established health and safety protocols

Day camps

  • Day camp registration began on May 11 with capacity limits
  • Staff are working to make adjustments according to provincial guidelines

Weddings, funerals and religious services, rites and ceremonies

  • Outdoor religious services permitted with limit of 100 people with 2 metre physical distancing and pre-registration


  • Maximum 10 people for outdoor gatherings and organized public events
  • Indoor gatherings are not permitted
  • Outdoor permits will be available through the Facility Booking unit for groups of 10 or less with established health and safety protocols

Water features

  • Outdoor pools, splash pads, spray pads, whirlpools, wading pools and water slides open with capacity limited to permit 2 metres physical distancing
    • Spray pads opened on May 22, 2021
    • Rotary Pool will open on June 26, 2021
