News Release

The Town of Milton is conducting their first Citizen Engagement Survey that will help to inform the future goals and objectives for Milton. The telephone and online survey will be conducted between Oct. 25 to Nov. 22, 2022, and will take place every two years moving forward.

The purpose of the survey is to gain the community’s sentiment and perceptions on matters such as:

  • Liveability
  • Satisfaction with the Town's programs and services, including Milton Public Library
  • Prioritization of the issues and initiatives the Town should address
  • Value for tax dollar and views on property taxes in relation to service delivery
  • Quality of place
  • Preferred communication channels and interactions with the Town and Milton Public Library

Forum Research Inc. is conducting the telephone and online survey on behalf of the Town. The survey will be conducted across a range of methodologies to ensure that the data is representative of the community, reliable and valid. Milton residents (18 years or older) will either be contacted by a live telephone interviewer, or be able to participate in the survey online. The survey will take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and will be strictly confidential, anonymous, and voluntary.

Once it is complete, the Town will share these results with Council and be part of the information used to support strategic planning for the 2022-2026 term of Council.

Quotes

"The results will serve to benchmark the community’s satisfaction with our programs and services, liveability, affordability, customer service and information sharing. Conducting this survey on a regular basis going forward is our commitment to continuous quality improvement and customer service. Measuring our performance as a municipality, through a number of indicators, is key to future decision making in strategic planning of priorities and investments, as well as the day-to-day delivery of programs and services.
