News Release

The Town of Milton has launched a dedicated web page to share its commitment to environmental planning, sustainability and conservation management with the community.

In April 2020, Milton Council endorsed the Town’s 2020 Climate Change Work Plan, driving action to protect the environment and mitigate the impacts of the changing climate. In July 2020, Council adopted the Town’s Council Staff Work Plan to include a focus on developing a sustainability leadership plan. The new web page is the first step to keeping the community informed through online content and shared activities, and includes copies of the Town’s energy and engagement plans along with educational materials.

“Residents are encouraged to check out our new web page to learn how they can join us in protecting our environment,” said Kristene Scott, Commissioner, Community Services. “Climate change action is a shared responsibility and Milton looks forward to working with residents, community groups and local businesses to keep our community green.”

For over 20 years, Town staff have actively been applying a green lens to projects and initiatives using specific environmental, sustainable and energy conservation strategies.
