The Town of Milton has completed an update to its Asset Management Plan, which brings together various studies about the condition of the town’s assets that have taken place over the past few years. The Asset Management Plan will be used to inform future capital and operating budgets and identify potential next steps towards improved asset management practices.

The updated Asset Management Plan is focused on the core assets of:

  • Transportation services: road networks, bridges and culverts, sidewalks, guard rails, walkways and trails, retaining walls, streetlights, traffic signs, and traffic signals.
  • Stormwater services: storm sewers, manholes and catchbasins, stormwater management facilities and ponds, and oil/grit separators.

These assets are essential to providing services and contributing to the quality of life enjoyed by residents. The Town of Milton currently owns over $2 billion of capital assets. As these assets age, investments are required to maintain them in a state of good repair and, in many instances, replace them at the end of their useful life.

Residents, businesses, and community organizations can view the Asset Management Plan and share their comments online at Let’s Talk Milton by June 20, 2021.
