Children's registered programs

Move More Sports:  1 to 12 year olds

The Move More Sports program is based on the Canadian Sport for Life model. It teaches play and fundamental movement skills through games and activities. The focus is on children’s growth and developmental stages. 

Sport specific skills and drills registered programs: 6 to 17 year olds

Register for a skills and drills sports program to try a new sport or improve your skills. These programs combine learning the fundamental movement skills of a sport with practice and game opportunities.

Register your child in the program that best describes their age and current skill level.


  • Active Start – Parent and Tot 123: 12 to 35 month olds who are learning to walk or run, may have limited balancing skills and may be able to jump. Learn basic movement skills and explore how to balance, jump, skip, throw, catch, dribble, and kick.
  • Preschool Fundamentals 1: 3 to 5 year olds who are able to run, jump and climb but have little to no experience throwing, catching, swinging or kicking. Learn how to run, balance on objects, do jumps and landing, catch objects and kick and trap with direction and power.
  • Preschool Fundamentals 2: 3 to 5 year olds with some experience kicking, throwing, catching and swinging and who is gaining speed and agility while running and balancing. Work on running with obstacles, static and dynamic balancing, jumps for specific purposes, catching bounce passes and kicking and dribbling with direction and power.
  • Preschool Fundamentals 3: 3 to 5 year olds, who can throw a ball, catch larger objects and demonstrate beginner ball handling skills such as dribbling. Learn how to run while balancing, balance at different levels, roll without assistance, begin learning skill sequences, do overhand throws and fine tune trapping, swinging and shooting skills.


  • Children Fundamentals 456: 6 to 8 year olds at a beginner sport level who may have some experience in organized sport and is still developing fundamental sport skills such as throwing, catching, passing, kicking and swinging. Learn and improve fundamental sport skills to gain confidence through play.
  • Multisport 1: 9 to 12 year olds who may be trying sports for the first time or would like to try out a variety of different sports.

Introductory programs  

Register to learn the basic skills and rules of a new sport so that you are prepared to join one of our many drop in sport activities.

Recreational programs

Join one of our registered adult sports programs to reserve your weekly participation time. 

Recreational basketball league

Register as a team or as an individual.  Each team will play one 50-minute game each week.  League officials fully supervise all games.  The league convenor schedules all game times.
