Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) Program

In continuing to build a future-ready organization, Milton has adopted the Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) program as part  of its construction contract management and construction tendering process. This is a reaffirmation of the Town’s ongoing commitment to health and safety for contractors, employees and residents.

Prequalification documents will include scoring for CORTM registered and CORTM certified.

CORTM registration/certification will be a requirement for General Contractors,   Construction Consultants and External Project Managers.

In addition, the CORTM requirement will also be expanded to add the Major Sub-trades to be CORTM registered or certified.  This requirement will be included in the prequalification document and will be scored for CORTM registered and CORTM certified.

Town of Milton Purchasing Regulations

Our Purchasing By-law outlines how we acquire goods and services. Council approves any exceptions from the guidelines stated in the by-law.

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005

We are committed to preventing and removing barriers to accessing goods and services for persons with disabilities. We are bound by the Standards under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.

Regulations enacted under the Act apply to all designated public sector organizations and third parties providing goods and services to members of the public on behalf of the Town of Milton.

Consultants or contractors, their employees and all sub-contractors hired by the consultants or contractors to complete their work, must meet or exceed compliance with all applicable regulations under the Act which came into effect on January 1, 2010.

Successful bidders must have their employees:  

  1. Read the Guidelines and Integrated Accessibility Training Brochure.
  2. Sign the Confirmation of Acceptance Form.
