Volunteer applications to maintain and operate neighbourhood rinks open Oct. 9
The Town of Milton is inviting residents to help bring outdoor skating to their neighbourhood by volunteering to maintain and operate an outdoor ice rink during the 2026-27 winter season. Applications open Friday, Oct. 9.
Entering its fifth year, the neighbourhood outdoor rink program relies on volunteers to provide residents with ice-skating opportunities, encouraging an active and fun winter season at no cost.
Groups of six or more adults from different households can apply to maintain and operate a rink site at a pre-approved park. Each group must designate a team leader and complete regular flooding, snow clearing, and safety checks. The Town provides the rink along with guidance throughout the season, while volunteers are responsible for day-to-day maintenance.
Help bring outdoor skating to your neighbourhood and create a place for your community to connect and stay active this winter. New and returning volunteers are encouraged to apply.
Applications close Sunday, Nov. 8. For full program details, including volunteer responsibilities and the online application form, visit milton.ca/NeighbourhoodRinks.
