Knowing when and how to use a fire extinguisher can help prevent injuries, limit property damage, and support safer outcomes before emergency crews arrive.
This training is available to:
-
Residents
-
Business owners and employees
-
Community groups and organizations
No prior fire safety training is required.
This program combines theory-based learning with hands-on practice to help participants understand the role of fire extinguishers and how to use them effectively.
During the training, participants:
-
Learn about different types of fire extinguishers and what they are used for
-
Watch demonstrations of proper fire-extinguishing techniques
-
Practice using a fire extinguisher in a safe, controlled environment
The goal of the program is to help participants recognize when it is safe to act and when to evacuate and call 911.
Training sessions are offered by request and scheduled based on availability.
To get started, complete the Fire Safety Programs and Training Request form. Once your request is received, Town staff will follow up with next steps and scheduling details.
