Dog Parks

Milton offers fenced, off-leash dog parks where dogs can run and play safely. These parks are operated by Leash Free Milton and follow clear rules to protect people and pets.

Off-leash dog park locations

You can visit an off-leash dog park at:

Each park has a fenced area designed for off-leash use.

Rules for all dogs

To keep everyone safe, all dogs must be:

  • Leashed when entering and leaving the fenced off-leash area
  • With a responsible person who can see and control them at all times

While you are in the park

Please help create a safe space for everyone:

  • Handle your dog responsibly
  • Watch for signs of stress or fear in other dogs
  • Prevent your dog from threatening or intimidating others
  • Leave glass containers at home

If your dog shows ongoing aggressive behaviour, you must leash your dog and leave the park right away. This is required under the Town’s Animal Control By-law.

Children at dog parks

Children must be closely supervised at all times. Some dogs are not used to children and may act unpredictably.

  • Children are encouraged to use the separate playground areas
  • Off-leash areas are designed for dogs, not play equipment

Pit bulls

Pit bulls must be:

  • Leashed
  • Muzzled
  • Controlled by a person strong enough to manage the dog at all times

For details, please contact the Town for more information.

Muzzle orders

If your dog has a muzzle order, you must keep the dog leashed and muzzled at all times while in the park.
