Overview 

You can now request copies of your property tax documents, including statements, and issued tax notices, and view historical information on the Town’s property tax portal.  

The property tax portal provides secure, 24/7 access to your property tax information.  

You can: 

  • View current and past property tax information 

  • Check account balances 

  • View payment and transaction history (from January 2026 onward) 

  • Print statements, bills, and adjustment notices 

  • Sign up for autopay

Who this is for 

This service is for: 

  • Property owners 

  • Authorized representatives (for example, lawyers or agents) 

  • Individuals who need copies of tax records or official documents 

Request tax statements, receipts, or duplicate bills 

Tax statements issued by the Tax office outside of the tax portal are subject to a $25 fee, as prescribed by the Town’s User Fee By-law. 

There are two ways to request these documents if the tax portal is not an option. Choose the option that works best for you.

Residents can request a Property Tax Document by email for a fee of $25. Follow these steps to request documents by email: 

  1. Prepare your request   

Include your name, property address, and the document you are requesting 

  1. Authorize the fee   

Confirm in your email that you approve the $25 fee to be added to your property tax account 

  1. Send your request   

After you submit your request: 

  • You will receive your document by email within one to three business days 

  • You can pay the $25 fee through online banking using your roll number 

Please note: a $25 charge may appear as an outstanding balance on your property tax account until it is paid.

Residents can request a Property Tax Document in person for a fee of $25, by visiting Town Hall Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 

Before you visit, make sure you are prepared to complete your request on site. 

  1. Bring identification   

Provide valid government-issued photo ID 

  1. Pay the fee   

Pay $25 by cash, cheque, or debit 

After payment is complete: Your document will be printed immediately.

Residents can generate their own tax statements through their property tax portal account for free. Residents can also see any bills issued since they took possession of the property.

Request a tax certificate 

A tax certificate is an official legal document that shows: 

  • Annual tax payments 

  • Current or prior year arrears 

  • Local improvement charges billed to the property 

Tax certificates are commonly requested during property sales or transfers, often by legal representatives. 

To improve service, tax certificates are available online through the Tax Certificate Online Tool (TCOL). 

How to request a tax certificate online 

Follow these steps to order your tax certificate: 

  1. Create an account   

  1. Enter property details   

Provide the roll number or municipal address for the property 

  1. Submit your request and payment   

Complete your request and pay the fee online 

After payment is complete: You will receive the electronic tax certificate in less than one minute once payment is confirmed.

Processing time 

Processing times depend on the service and request method: 

  • Email requests: 2–3 business days 

  • In-person requests: Same day (immediate after payment) 

  • Tax certificates (online): Within minutes after payment 

After you request 

Once your request is complete: 

  • You will receive your document by email, in person, or through the online system, depending on the service you used 

  • Any applicable fees must be paid in full 

  • Access to documents is limited to property owners or authorized individuals
