We’re expanding Milton’s urban forest
Each year, Milton plants several hundred trees in various naturalized areas with environmental partners such as Conservation Halton and Sustainable Milton. This work is in addition to the Town planting hundreds of young trees every year along streetscapes and in parks.

Eliminated printing of recreation guide
The recreation guide is available online, eliminating printing over 600,000 pages annually.

Eliminating single use plastics
The Town is eliminating the supply of foodware, plastic straws, and cutlery from Town-run concessions. Once depleted, alternatives to single-use items will be purchased.

This system collects and stores rain water from the roof for use in water closets.

Improvements include signals/provision of turning lanes; efficient signal phasing and provision of turning lanes improves traffic levels and reduces GHGs. Using environmental friendly products. Signals are actuated and do not run on fixed time.

Tree species and stormwater teaching
The Town worked with Boyne P.S. Grade 4 class to provide two teaching tours about parks, tree species identification and stormwater management.

Recycling used asphalt from road construction to use for later projects reduces the amount of asphalt needed.
