Overview 

Aquafit classes offer a low-impact way to stay active while benefiting from the support and natural resistance of water. Classes are designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility, and overall well-being while reducing stress on joints and muscles. Use the information below to explore available class types, registration requirements, memberships, and program guidelines.

Drop-in Aquafit classes 

Drop-in Aquafit classes provide a flexible way to participate in instructor-led aquatic fitness programs without committing to a registered course. Classes are offered throughout the year and are designed to help participants build strength, improve endurance, and stay active in a supportive environment.

  • Pre-registration is recommended to secure your space before arriving at the facility 

  • Some classes may reach capacity and drop-in spaces may not be available 

  • Registration opens 72 hours in advance for Milton residents and 48 hours in advance for non-residents 

  • Visit the registration information page for step-by-step instructions on creating an account and registering for programs 

Shallow/Deep Combo Aquafit – Use the resistance of water to stretch and strengthen your muscles while also getting a great cardio workout. This class is suitable for swimmers and non-swimmers alike. Flotation belts are provided upon request. 

Warm Water Aquafit – This class is a full body workout in warm water and includes muscle strengthening and conditioning.

Gentle Aquafit – This  low impact and reduced intensity aquafit class is ideal for older adults, participants with joint ailments, those recovering from injuries or surgeries and anyone looking for a low-intensity starting point.  

Please remember: 

  • Check in with staff upon arrival
  • Arrive to your program on time
  • For the enjoyment of all, please keep talking to a minimum and remain focused on the instructor
  • Remain aware and respect the space of other participants
  • Have fun, exercise at your own pace, and remember to drink plenty of water
  • Every participant, together with staff, volunteers, and parents/guardians, contributes to the success of the programs and services offered by the Town.  In order to provide quality programs and services, the Participant Code of Behaviour has been established.

Membership and admission options include: 

  • Single-visit admission 

  • 10-visit pass 

  • Annual membership 

If you can no longer attend a class, withdraw as early as possible to allow another participant to register. 

To withdraw online: 

  1. Select the participant name 

  1. Select Schedule 

  1. Switch to List View 

  1. Select Action 

  1. Choose Withdraw and indicate the reason for cancellation 

Important notes 

  • Refund information is displayed during the withdrawal process 

  • Credit card payments may be refunded to the original card 

  • Withdrawal fees may apply in accordance with Town policy 

  • Subsidy payments are returned to the subsidy account 

  • Refunds generally take three business days to process
