Overview 

Ward 4 residents are represented by both a Town Councillor and a Regional Councillor. Together, they represent local interests and help guide decisions that affect the Town of Milton and Halton Region.

Town Councillor Sarah Marshall 

Sarah Marshall serves as the Town Councillor for Ward 4 and represents residents on Milton Town Council. In this role, she works with the Mayor and members of Council to help shape municipal policies, services, budgets, and long-term planning initiatives.

Regional Councillor Sameera Ali 

Sameera Ali serves as the Regional Councillor for Ward 4, representing residents at both Milton Town Council and Halton Regional Council. In addition to participating in municipal decision-making, she helps address regional matters such as transportation, infrastructure, public health, and regional services.

Biography 

Issues related to diversity, inclusion, youth, affordable housing, and seniors continue to be important priorities for Councillor Ali. She resides in Ward 4 with her family and remains actively engaged in the community. Her personal interests include running, badminton, soccer, volunteering, and cooking. 

Work and volunteer experience 

Councillor Ali holds a Master of Arts degree in International Relations and Public Relations and has more than 15 years of experience managing multilingual public relations and marketing campaigns. 

Her community and professional experience includes:  

  • Community Director – Milton Halal Food Bank 

  • Public Relations Officer – Royal Canadian Legion Branch 136 

  • Group Recreation Volunteer – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton 

  • Peer Support Counsellor – The Women's Centre of Halton

In addition to serving on Council, Councillor Ali serves on several boards and committees that support municipal and community governance. 

  • Milton Community Fund Advisory Committee member 

  • Conservation Halton Board member 

  • Town of Milton Council representative – Halton Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee 

  • Rotating Budget Chair
