Pay your fare with Token Transit

Purchase and store Milton Transit tickets and passes on your smartphone using the Token Transit app.

How it works

Here's how to pay for your Token Transit pass with a mobile device in four easy steps:

1. Download

Visit the Google Play or App Store to download the Token Transit app.

2. Purchase

Select a Milton Transit fare type; options include a single ride, 10 rides, or a monthly pass.

Wi-Fi or mobile data connection is required to purchase a pass.

3. Activate

When you are ready to ride, tap your pass to activate it.

All passes are stored in your Token Transit account. Wi-Fi or mobile data connection is required to activate a stored pass.

Once activated, a 10-ride pass expires in two hours, and a GO transfer pass expires in 30 minutes.

(E.g. Passes are valid once it is activated. If a monthly pass is activated in September, it will only be good for the days remaining in the month of September).

4. Ride

As you board the bus, show the Milton Transit operator your digital ticket.

Frequently asked questions

Which Milton Transit passes and tickets are available on Token Transit?

All regular Milton Transit passes and tickets are available on Token Transit.

Can I request a refund?

Passes are not transferable or replaceable. All sales are final. However, if you experience technical issues, please contact Token Transit

How do I know if my pass or ticket is active?

Active passes will be displayed under "Passes in use," which immediately appears when the Token Transit app is opened.

Is there a record of expired passes?

Yes. You can view a log of your past actions by going to your Account Settings and selecting 'History'. There will be a new entry every time you use a pass.

Can I get a receipt for my pass purchase?

Yes, but in order to do so, you will need to make sure that you include your email address when you register your account. Receipts will be sent to the email address associated with your account.

I need help with the app, who can help me?

If you experience any technical issues with the app, please contact Token Transit. Milton Transit can assist with all other questions, just call 905-864-4141.

Can Token Transit be used offline?

Token Transit can be used offline. The app requires a data or Wi-Fi connection when purchasing a pass. It also requires internet connectivity when activating a stored pass. Once activated, the app needs to fetch security information from Token Transit once per day. If you activate and load a ticket in the morning, it will display the ticket offline all day or until the pass expires.

This means that for the 10-Ride pass - since each activated pass will remain available for 120 minutes (30 minutes for GO Transfer) - a rider can activate the pass while they have access to Wi-Fi as long as it is within 120 minutes (or 30 minutes for GO Transfer) of boarding the bus
