If you need to transfer between bus routes and services, request a free transfer from the bus driver at the time of boarding and paying the fare.

Transfers on Milton Transit are available to cash and ticket paying customers. The cut end of the transfer displays the expiry time for when you can board the next bus. Show your transfer to the operator each time you board a bus.

Transfer rules and restrictions

  • Transfers must be obtained from the bus driver at the time the fare is paid
  • Transfers are valid for two hours and can be used for travel in any direction – stopovers and return trips are allowed
  • Transfers cannot be given to, or shared with, other passengers
  • Transfers are invalid when wrinkled, torn or otherwise damaged
  • Lost transfers will not be reissued

Beginning Sept. 6, 2022, Milton Transit will connect with MiWay and Brampton Transit with the new 21 Steeles route. This new route operates between Milton GO Station and Lisgar GO Station.

Transferring from Brampton Transit or MiWay to Milton Transit

PRESTO customers

  1. Show the Milton Transit driver your valid PRESTO card or proof of your PRESTO contactless payment in your mobile wallet and verbally declare that you are transferring from a Brampton Transit or MiWay bus route

  2. Milton Transit driver provides you with a Milton paper transfer

  3. Use the paper transfer for the remainder of your trip in Milton, for the duration of the transfer window

Cash-paying customers
  1. When boarding Brampton Transit or MiWay bus route, request a MiWay or Brampton Transit paper transfer. You will need this paper transfer to board Milton Transit
  2. Show the Milton Transit driver your printed MiWay or Brampton Transit paper transfer
  3. Use your printed MiWay or Brampton Transit paper transfer for the remainder of your trip in Milton, for the duration of the transfer window 

Transferring from Milton Transit to Brampton Transit or MiWay

  1. Ask the Milton Transit driver for a paper transfer
  2. Use your Milton Transit paper transfer for your connection on Brampton Transit or MiWay, for the remaining duration of the two-hour transfer window

Travelling to/from Toronto Premium Outlets

A fare is required (either Milton Transit cash fare, ticket, monthly pass, or valid paper transfer), when boarding Milton Transit from the bus stop at Toronto Premium Outlets. PRESTO fares are not valid at this location.
