Milton Fire & Rescue Services will conduct a home safety inspection free of charge to make sure that buildings in our community meet the requirements set out in the Ontario Fire Code. This helps to keep our community and residents safe.
Request a property inspection
You may make a formal request if your home or business requires one to be compliant with the Ontario Fire Code. We will inspect the building and once compliance is achieved, issue an Inspection Report.

You may also request a fire report from a specific fire incident or a property file search for a specific property for past inspections, inspection orders, fire incidents.

Fire Department reports accurately record the actions of Milton Fire & Rescue Services personnel, related agencies and civilians involved or near an incident or event that Milton Fire & Rescue Services responded to. You can make a fire report request as long as you have permission from the property owner. Property inspections
We will notify you prior to the inspection and will follow-up after the inspection with enforcement, if necessary. During the inspection, we will show you the violations to the Fire Code, if any exist, and ask you to correct these violations.
We will provide you with a fire safety inspection report, inspection order or other written recommendation that will detail daily, weekly, monthly and annual fire provisions and equipment maintenance requirements. We will work with you to resolve any compliance issues.
