In order to keep all pets and residents safe, the Town of Milton's Animal Control By-law regulates pet ownership in our community.

Leash requirements

Dogs and cats must be kept on a leash and under the care and control of the owner at all times in public spaces. This helps protect both our animals and residents.

Leashes should not exceed 2.1 metres.

Poop and scoop

Pet owners are responsible for immediately removing and properly disposing of animal excrement from both private and public property, or as soon as practicable.
