News release

The Town of Milton has shared results of its first Citizen Engagement Survey which will help ensure that Town goals and objectives reflect the needs and priorities of residents.

In fall 2022, a random telephone survey contacted a statistically significant sample of residents for their confidential, anonymous, and voluntary responses. Results were weighted by age, gender and household income to reflect the Town’s demographics in the 2021 Census data.

Some highlights of what respondents told us:

  • Transportation, development and infrastructure, and economic items are top of mind issues in Milton. Our sense of community, local festivals and events, and outdoor recreation opportunities are the top features that make Milton liveable.
  • Most respondents were satisfied with the quality of Town services, and positively rated the respect, timeliness and knowledge of Town employees. Opportunities exist when it comes to roads planning and managing growth.
  • Most residents are satisfied with their most recent interaction with the Town, with 87 per cent rating Town employees as respectful and 82 per cent rating them knowledgeable.

Forum Research Inc. conducted the survey and analysis on behalf of the Town of Milton, ensuring responses were strictly confidential, anonymous, and voluntary.
