Volunteer application requirements

All volunteers must:

  • Provide two reference letters.
  • Attend an interview (and provide two references at this stage).
  • Participate in a mandatory training session.
  • Complete all required documentation.
  • Provide a criminal record check (CRC) (required for most volunteer positions).
  • Provide a CRC with vulnerable sector check (VSC), (if you are age 18 or older and plan to volunteer with children, older adults or persons with a disability).
  • Complete other possible required screening.

Please note that you must cover the cost for your CRC and/or VSC. 

All applications are carefully considered but we may not be able to match you with your preferred placement. If accepted, we will work with you to discuss available options.
