The Town of Milton offers a variety of drop-in and registered sports programs, in addition to the Milton Adult Recreational Basketball League.

Drop-in sports

Drop-in sports are available at a variety of Town recreation facilities. Drop-in sports offerings include: badminton, basketball, disc golf, floor hockey, pickleball, table tennis, and volleyball. To browse availability, click the button below.

Registration

  • Pre-registration is recommended for drop-in sports visits to secure your space and to save time when you arrive at the facility. Some sessions reach capacity and drop-in spaces may not be available. Log in to your account to register.
  • Specific program guidelines can be found when selecting ‘Register’ or ‘More Info’ on the drop-in sports registration page.
  • Registration opens 72 hours in advance for Milton residents and 48 hours in advance for non-residents.

Play & Sport Memberships

View the current rates for a single visit, 10-visit or annual membership. 

Program guidelines

  • Please check in with Customer Service at the front desk when you arrive. If the front desk is closed, you can check-in with Town staff at the program space.
  • When you receive a wristband, it must be worn at all times while participating in the program.
  • Only registered participants are permitted in the program space. Spectators should remain in designated viewing areas.
  • Specific sport guidelines can be found in the drop-in description and below:
    • Court sharing is facilitated by those in attendance.

    • Participants are required to bring their own sports equipment, nets will be provided. Non- marking running or sport shoes are required.
    • Family & 12 years and under drop-ins: intended to provide an unstructured, casual, coach-free environment where children and youth can play. At least one participant must be 18 years of age or older and registered. Active adult participation is required. Coaching is not permitted during family sessions. Coaching includes structured drills, step-by-step instructions, and/or charging a fee for a client.
    • Book a Court drop-ins: only an individual registration by an adult (18+) is required to reserve a court for your group. If you would like to reserve an additional court, another member of your group is required to book the next court. The individual who books the court must be in attendance with their group. The maximum group size per court is 12 individuals.
  • Every participant, together with staff, volunteers, and parents/guardians, contributes to the success of the programs and services offered by the Town. In order to provide quality programs and services, the Participant Code of Behaviour has been established.

Cancellations/withdrawals

Please withdraw from a program you can no longer attend as early as possible to allow another community member to participate. No refunds or transfers will be issued once the program has started. To cancel a program you have registered for, please login to your account or email Recreation staff.

  2. Select participant name
  3. Select 'Schedule' from the list on the left-hand side
  4. Switch your view to 'List View' and select 'Action' beside the course you wish to cancel
  5. Select 'Withdraw' from drop-down list and choose the reason for cancellation

Notes:

  • The refund method is displayed on screen
  • Credit card payments will have the option to refund back to the original card 
  • Withdrawal fees will be charged as per Town policy
  • Subsidy payments will be returned to subsidy account
  • Refunds take three business days to process

Registered sports

Instructional and registered sports programs are available each season for those between the ages of 6-17 years. Registered sports offerings include: badminton, beach volleyball, cricket, disc golf, dodgeball, floor hockey, racquet sports, volleyball, and our featured Hoops & Spikes program. Physical literacy sport programs are available each season for those between the ages 1-12 years. Physical literacy offerings include: move more sports and move more music.

Program Description & Guidelines

  • Arrive on time 
  • Wear appropriate attire for your program, non-marking running or sport shoes are required.
  • Children’s Programs:     
    • A parent/guardian/caregiver must accompany children under ten (10) years of age to the program area for drop-off and pick-up, at the designated program start and end times.
    • Parents/guardians/caregivers of children under ten (10) years of age participating in a Town program/service will remain responsible for supervising the child outside of the direct program area. Inclusion programs, care programs (e.g. camps), and those programs in excess of two (2) consecutive hours are excluded from this requirement unless otherwise stated).
  • Every participant, together with staff, volunteers, and parents/guardians, contributes to the success of the programs and services offered by the Town.  In order to provide quality programs and services, the Participant Code of Behaviour has been established.

Milton Adult Recreational Basketball League

Join this fun, social, recreational basketball league and enjoy weekly games supervised by league officials. League participants can expect Player of the Week awards, season playoffs, and team championship prizes.

Register a full team or as an individual, and you will be placed on a team before the start of the season. Deadline to register is two weeks before the season is scheduled to begin. Games and meetings run out of the Milton Sports Centre Gymnasium.

Fall 2026 season is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026. Resident registration begins Aug. 25, 2026, at 7 a.m.

Sports Equipment Lending

Town of Milton offers Free Sports Equipment to be borrowed at select community centre front desks. Reservations and availability can be viewed at our Drop-in Equipment Lending Booking Page.

All that’s needed is a recreation account to reserve the equipment!

In partnership with the Milton Public Library, you can also borrow family outdoor games and sports equipment such as:

  • Disc Golf Set (can be borrowed from Sherwood Community Centre),
  • Giant Tumble Tower,
  • Spikeball,
  • KanJam,
  • Cornhole,
  • Bocce Ball Set,
  • Croquet Set,
  • Pickleball Set,
  • Cricket Set,
  • Tennis Racquet and Balls,
  • Hiking Poles,

  • Pickleball Paddles and Balls (can be borrowed from Milton National Cycling Centre)

All that’s needed is a library card and the desire to have fun and get active.
