The Town of Milton offers a variety of drop-in skating and hockey programs. Whether you are interested in public skating, shinny or Stick 'N Puck, we have something for everyone. The Community Services Department has the right to modify the skate and hockey program schedule by season based on attendance or ice/patroller availability.

Drop in-skating

Drop-in skating is available at the Milton Sports Centre and Sherwood Community Centre.

  • Please note that the Town of Milton does not directly offer skate rentals or skate sharpening services. It is recommended to arrive with skates or make equipment arrangements prior to arriving to the facility.

Memberships and passes

You can pay-per-visit or buy the 10-visit or annual pass. 10-visit and annual passes are valid for drop-in skating, fitness and swimming. Visit a customer service desk to buy your pass or purchase it online.
All prices include HST. Annual passes and 10-visit passes expire one year from the date of purchase.

Program guidelines

  • Family skate is unsupervised

  • Parent/guardians accompanying children (12 years and under) must be 18 years of age or older and remain in program area supervising throughout the skate

  • Adult to child (12 years and under) ratio must not exceed 1:4

  • Not permitted on the ice: boots or shoes, use of handheld mobile devices and food or beverage other than water

  • CSA-approved helmets are highly recommended, with chinstraps fastened

  • Skate aids must remain in designated area at public skate

Rules and regulations (Stick 'N Puck) 

  •  Full equipment is recommended
  • CSA-approved helmets (with full-face mask and hockey gloves for child and youth participants) are required and you must fasten your chinstrap
  • Body contact, organized game play, slap shots and practice tools (e.g. pylons) are not permitted
  • There is 20 skater maximum for all programs
  • For programs for children 12 years and under, the adult to participant ratio is 1:2
  • Coaching is not permitted during the designated family sessions
  • Parent/guardians accompanying children (12 years and under) must be 18 years of age or older and must remain in program area in the arena if not on the ice

Rules and regulations (Shinny)

  • Full equipment is required
  • CSA approved helmets are required for all participants. Participants under the age of 18 must wear full face-masks
  • Body contact and slap shots are not permitted
  • Goalies (two maximum) play for free and can register under 'Shinny - Goalie'
  • Parents/guardians accompanying children (12 years and under) must be 18 years of age or older and must remain in the program area

Outdoor rinks

We have two outdoor rinks maintained by the Town, located at Rotary Park (100 Garden Lane) and Campbellville Old Baseball Diamond (105 Campbell Ave. E.).

The rinks are not supervised by Town staff. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, please follow the rules.

  • The rink is open to the public from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, when conditions are safe
  • After sunset, you must push the ‘on’ button to activate the lights
  • Skates must be worn on the surface at all times and no boots or shoes are allowed
  • No hockey nets, sticks, pucks or balls
  • Help us maintain the rink by placing garbage in containers provided
  • No pets, food or drink on the surface
  • To report damage or a concern, fill out our maintenance form or call 905-878-7252 ext. 2500
