COVID-19 updateOn July 16, 2021, Milton enters Step 3 of the province’s Roadmap to Reopen. The Town of Milton is taking a staggered approach to reopening services and facilities to allow the necessary measures to be in place to ensure the safety of residents and staff.

Drop in-skating

Starting July 26, drop-in skating is available at the Milton Sports Centre and Sherwood Community Centre.

Registration

  • Registration is required for all visits 
  • Registration opens 72 hours in advance for Milton residents and 48 hours in advance for non-residents

Rates

You can pay-per-visit or buy our 10-visit or annual pass. 10-visit and annual passes are valid for drop-in skating and swimming. Visit a customer service desk to buy your pass or purchase your pass online.

Step 3 safety measures 

  • Facility capacity limits are based upon the ability for all participants to remain 2 metres apart  
  • You will be asked COVID-19 screening questions upon entering the facility 
  • Masks must be worn at all times while inside the facility, unless you are actively engaged in physical activity 
  • Spectators are permitted based on facility capacity and the ability for all spectators to maintain 2 metres distance at all times
  • Changerooms and showers are open, with capacity restrictions posted at the doors
  • Shower at home if possible

  • Come prepared to play in your equipment (Only skates and helmets may be put on in the arena, hockey bags are not permitted)
  • Program staff will admit you at the rink entrance and direct you to an area to tie skates
  • Spectators are permitted based on facility capacity and the ability for all spectators to maintain 2 metres distance at all times
  • Changerooms and showers are open, with capacity restrictions posted at the doors
  • Shower at home if possible 

Rules and regulations

  • Full equipment is recommended
  • CSA-approved helmets (with full-face mask and hockey gloves for child and youth participants) are required and you must fasten your chinstrap
  • Body contact, organized game play, slap shots and practice tools (e.g. pylons) are not permitted
  • There is 20 skater maximum for all programs
  • For programs for children 12 years and under, adult to participant ratio is 1:2
  • Coaching is not permitted during family sessions
  • One parent or guardian, 18 years of age or older, is permitted for supervisory purposes and must stay in the designated program area when accompanying children or youth, physically distancing from other parents/guardian
