Board and Committee support

• Imagine Canada: Offers topic guides and a range of resources from policy samples to guidance on best practices related to charity and nonprofit organizational management.
• Non-profit Law Ontario: A project of Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO) to meet the legal needs of small and medium-sized nonprofits and charities in Ontario.
• Volunteer Halton: Offers information sessions throughout the year on topics related to  Board and Committee governance.
• Volunteer Toronto: Offers a variety of online Board Governance training courses for a reasonable fee.

• Halton Community Services Directory: Local Milton organizations may wish to be added to this directory, which is free. This directory helps raise awareness to local residents about human services organizations available in Halton Region. After reading the Terms of Use page, organizations can fill-out an application form for review.
• Halton Small Business Centre: Offers a variety of information sessions and resources that are helpful to small businesses and non-profit organizations as well.
• Town of Milton Economic Development Data Centre: Access data to help your organization plan ahead, including interacting with and learning about Milton’s Community Profile.

Volunteer support

• Volunteer Halton: Offers information sessions throughout the year on topics related to  Volunteer Program Management. Organizations can also join as members to receive session discounts and opportunities to post positions on the Volunteer Halton database.
• Volunteer Toronto: Offers a variety of online Volunteer Management training courses for a reasonable fee.

Community Development Halton

Town of Milton (Community Services) is a proud member of Community Development Halton (CDH). Membership connects us to research, collaboration, and advocacy that strengthens our community. It also promotes volunteerism and civic engagement – building a stronger Halton for everyone. Nonprofit organizations can learn about joining CDH on the CDH website.
