The walking and running track at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre is open. The track at the Milton Sports Centre remains closed at this time. For available walking and running track sessions, visit our drop-in calendar.

Following public health directives and provincial guidelines, we’ve made some changes to keep you safe. If you feel sick, please stay home. There is no penalty for a missed workout due to illness. Call us at 905-864-4132 or  email us to cancel your session so that we can make space for someone else to attend.

Booking your visit

All visitors must book their visit online. Pre-registration allows us to maintain a safe number of participants and keeps your spot secure. If you need help to set up your account or pre-register, call us at 905-864-4132.

  • Online pre-registration will open 72 hours before the program.
  • There are designated times for walking and designated times for running. Please make sure you are booking the most appropriate session.
  • All walking or running track visits are 90 minutes long. You must be off the track and leaving the facility before the end of your session.

Program attendance and waitlists are closely monitored. We will add more sessions based on demand and the ability to maintain our safety processes. If the session you want to attend is full, please place yourself on the waitlist to help us understand community interest.

What to bring

Arrive in your workout clothes and minimize the personal items you bring with you. Washrooms are available, but change rooms, showers and lockers remain closed at this time. Bring a refillable water bottle. Touchless water refill stations are open, but water fountains are closed.

A designated stretching area has been identified in the atrium at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre. You may bring your own mat if you would like to use this space.

At the track

Check-in at the front desk starts 15 minutes before your pre-registered session. Follow directional signage and physical distancing markers at the main entrance and throughout the building. Use the physically distanced chairs provided to place your belongings and for changing your shoes.

Cleaning and safety measures

  • When arriving at the facility, please use the hand sanitizer provided at the entrance.
  • Masks must be worn throughout the building, following Halton Region’s mandatory mask by-law. Your mask may be removed when you are actively walking or running.
  • Capacities have been limited at all walking and running sessions to help maintain physical distancing.
  • Use only the inside and outside lanes for walking or running. The middle lane is closed.
  • Passing is permitted but you must provide at least six feet of space when doing so. More space is better.
  • At the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, merge lanes have been created in the corners of the track to ensure that we can maintain a safe distance between walkers/runners and cyclists. Be mindful of these merge lanes.
  • Staff will sanitize high-touch surfaces throughout the day.
