The Town of Milton invites residents to public information sessions to learn about and provide feedback on proposed polices changes that would allow additional residential units (ARUs) in rural Milton. The changes aim to expand housing options in the rural areas including hamlets.
ARUs are self-contained residential units that include a kitchen, sleeping area, and bathroom. Examples include basement apartments, granny flats, coach houses, and garden suites. In 2024, Town Council approved changes to the Official Plan and zoning by-laws to allow ARUs in Milton’s urban areas.
During the information sessions, Planning and Development staff will present the proposed regulations and answer residents’ questions.
