The Milton Education Village Secondary Plan will guide the development of a complete community that blends post-secondary education with a mix of other complementary uses into a comprehensively planned neighbourhood.

Milton’s vision is to create a dynamic urban village, where innovation meets natural wonder.

The Secondary Plan will reflect the following themes and guiding principles that have emerged through community involvement:

  • An urban village that is visually and physically connected with its landscape setting
  • A network of streets, squares and open spaces that create a walkable and active public realm
  • A compact, mixed-use community with densities supportive of transit and active transportation

The MEV Secondary Plan area is 162 hectares (400 acres) of land centred on the Mattamy National Cycling Centre and bounded by the Niagara Escarpment Plan Area to the north, Tremaine Road to the east, Britannia Road to the south and the Greenbelt Plan Area to the west.

Council meeting

Council endorsed the conceptual land use plan and policy framework for the MEV lands on September 10, 2018.

Innovation and Future Development Fair

Milton hosted an Innovation and Future Development Fair at Town Hall on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, where we featured a display panel for the MEV Secondary Plan.

Community meeting

On January 31, 2018 at the MEV Innovation Centre, attendees asked questions, shared their ideas, and provided feedback that informed the planning process for the Plan’s area.
