After a successful patio season in 2022, the Town of Milton is now accepting applications for the 2023 season. The seasonal program allows bars and restaurants to extend and operate patios in designated areas.

The program was introduced in 2020 and has successfully supported Milton’s local food and beverage sector in recovering from the operational impacts resulting from the pandemic, while also advancing the Town’s overall place-making efforts.

The Town is continuously reviewing and streamlining the patio permit process to support economic prosperity and provide excellent customer service. Staff will evaluate all applications through an expedited process and work closely with applicants to provide guidance and support so local bars and restaurants can safely operate outdoor patios during the 2023 patio season. 

This year’s program will launch on Victoria Day weekend, coinciding with the return of the Farmers’ Market to Main Street. The program will run from May 20to Oct. 31, for patios on public property and until Dec. 31 for patios on private property.
